Main course: Beef Stew with French fries
Prepared with:BON HOMME
Ingredients:
Serves 4- 2 onions
- 30 g butter
- 800 g diced stewing beef
- 5 dl brown beer
- 1 slice white bread
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 sprig of thyme
- 1 bay leave
- 1 tsp corn flour
- 6 big potatoes
Preparation:
Chop the peeled onions into big pieces. Melt the butter until golden brown, then add the stewing beef. Season with pepper and salt. Add the onions and leave them until they have the same colour.Quench with the Bon'Homme. Place the slice of bread, covered with mustard, upon it. Add thyme and bay leave, cover with lid and let simmer away. Depending on the toughness of the meat, this will take 1 to 2 hours. Thicken the sauce with corn flour if necessary.
In the meantime, peel the potatoes and cut them into chips of 1,5 by 1,5 cm. Try to make them uniform concerning length. First fry the chips at 140 °C until they float. Let them dry and fry them again to golden brown just before serving.
